Our philosophy
For this course our aim is to create a space where you can express yourself creatively and freely in German, without fear or holding back. A space to explore, let go of our roles in everyday life, and simply enjoy yourself.

As a foundation for all of this, we work with body awareness, helping you develop a new sense of your body and voice, and become more aware of your emotions. As adults, we often lose touch with our sense of play and the playful, maybe even silly parts of ourselves don’t find much space in everyday life. In our course, you can rediscover and express these sides of yourself. It’s about experimenting, letting go of inhibitions and allowing yourself to simply be who you are.
By using German in fictional situations, you get to practice the language in a wide range of scenarios and gradually lose the fear of speaking. We combine acting, movement, creative writing and voice work to create embodied and creative approaches to learning German.
It is important for us to try creating a safe space where trust, connection, and a sense of safety is present. Many participants leave the sessions feeling changed: more open, more confident, and with a renewed sense of freedom in speaking German.

Example Session: Working with Poetry
Our sessions follow a clear and consistent structure while allowing space for creativity and new content each time.
Check-In
We begin by arriving together as a group, often through a simple, creative prompt that connects to the theme of the session.
Warm-Up (Body & Voice)
Through playful and mindful exercises, we activate body and voice, build group awareness, and prepare for creative work. This can include movement in space, partner exercises, and vocal elements such as group singing.
Input & Exploration
We introduce the theme using texts or other materials. Participants explore and discuss their impressions, then begin working with the material in small groups.
Energizer
A short, dynamic exercise to refresh focus and raise the group’s energy.
Practical Application
Participants experiment with the material in a performative way, for example by staging a text for different audiences or contexts.
Creative Writing
Through guided exercises such as free writing, participants develop their own texts, often inspired by the session’s theme or their immediate surroundings.
Devising & Creating
Individual ideas are developed into short pieces, either alone or in groups, sometimes incorporating music or other media.
Closing
We end the session together with a light physical or reflective activity, creating a sense of group connection.
